Adults
We all have so many resources. It is a professional joy to work with people to harness their particular strengths.
I have worked with people grappling with various life changing events. I work from a integrative psychotherapy model, which holds the person at the centre of the work. The therapy is in a non judgmental and inclusive context and beneficial for a range of issues such complex trauma or personality difficulties, long term physical or mental illness, sexualities, grief and transition, family of origin matters, co-parenting, experiences of trauma and abuse both as perpetrators and/or survivors, experiences of immigration, acculturation and racism, identity, adoption, among other life experiences. Each story and each person remains unique in terms of their tribulations, successes and what they teach me about this work.
Couples
All relationships need tending. Most of us seek to be deeply understood.
Therapy can help improve our communication, whether it is to connect more intimately or to separate respectfully. In my work with couples of all orientations, I have supported them to address:
- sexual issues - including sexual knowledge, interests, orientation, intimacy, mistrust, pornography-erotica, exploration, difficulties in the current relationship due to a history of sexual abuse
- Co-parenting/ step-parenting
- "Loving your partner but not being in love with them"
- Prioritising the couple relationship
